John Golden (Wilmington, NC)
As Captain Roberts, "blockade runner," John performs favorite sea songs from three centuries of maritime history, including pirate ballads like "Henry Martin" as well as fo'c'sle songs like "Jack-A-Roe." Playing guitar, old-time banjo and harmonica, John tells tales of shipwrecks, daring rescues and heroes of the lifesaving and lighthouse services. From the town of Wilmington, NC, this Soundside recording artist performs in schools, libraries, museums and historic sites along the East Coast. His recordings include "Shipwrecks and Sea Songs (Vols. I and II)" and a CD of Outer Banks history entitled "Hatteras Memories."
